PetEsentials is an online pet store serving customers across Canada. Food, treats, supplements, litter, toys, grooming and accessories for dogs, cats, small pets, birds, fish and reptiles — in one place, at prices that already include shipping.
What we set out to fix
Buying pet supplies online in Canada is more frustrating than it should be. Shipping is added at the last step and gets expensive the moment a bag of food or a box of litter goes in the cart. Delivery windows are vague. And the same bag can cost wildly different amounts from one shop to the next. We built PetEsentials around three commitments instead.
Three things we promise
The price you see is the price you pay
Shipping is included in every product price — including heavy things like 15 kg bags of food, cat litter and crates. Nothing is added at checkout, and there is no minimum order to unlock free delivery. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Clear delivery expectations
Orders are prepared and dispatched within 2–4 business days, and delivery within Canada takes 5–7 business days after that. We publish these numbers openly rather than promising speeds we cannot keep. If anything falls outside that window, you can reach a person who will look into it.
Sealed, original packaging
Every item ships in its original manufacturer packaging, sealed. We do not repackage food, treats or litter into unbranded bags. What you receive is what the manufacturer produced, with the batch code and best-before date intact.
What we sell
Our range covers what people actually buy for their animals: dry and wet food, raw and freeze-dried, treats and dental chews, joint and digestive supplements, flea and tick products, litter and litter boxes, beds, crates and carriers, collars, leashes and harnesses, toys, grooming tools and shampoos, plus full ranges for rabbits and guinea pigs, birds, aquariums and reptiles. What we do not do
We are a retailer, not a veterinary practice. We do not diagnose, we do not recommend treatments, and we do not advise on dosing for a specific animal. Supplements sold here are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Please talk to a licensed veterinarian before starting a supplement, changing a diet, or using any product on an animal that is pregnant, nursing, very young, elderly or being treated for a condition.
Recalls
Pet food recalls happen, and they are handled badly by a lot of retailers. If a product you bought from us is recalled by the manufacturer or by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, contact us regardless of when you ordered it — we refund it in full, and you usually do not need to send it back.
Returns and support
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return on any unopened, sealed item. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, we replace or refund it at no cost to you. Opened food, treats, litter and used accessories cannot be returned — full details are in our Return & Refund Policy and our FAQ.
